Scammers are impersonating Berg PC online. We’ve identified a fraudulent website built to look like ours, using a domain that adds an extra letter to our real address and copies our website content. Our legitimate website is, and always has been, bergpc.com — and only bergpc.com. Any variation of that address is not us.
There is also a Facebook page running fraudulent ads in association with our firm’s name and business address. Our legitimate Facebook page can be found at facebook.com/bergpclaw.
We want our clients, prospective clients, and the public to hear about this directly, from our real website and verified channels, so no one is misled or harmed.
We are taking active steps with the web host and Google to have the fraudulent site removed, and we have reported the fraudulent Facebook page and its ads to Meta. In the meantime, please read the following carefully.
Spotting the Fake Website & Facebook Page
- The address. The fraudulent site uses a domain that adds an extra letter to our familiar address. Adding an extra letter to a familiar domain is a common cloning tactic because the address looks correct at a glance. Our only legitimate website is bergpc.com. If anything about the address looks off, close the tab.
- The contact email. The fraudulent site lists a contact address that is not ours. Our legitimate contact email runs through our real domain only: info@bergpc.com. Treat any other “Berg PC” email address as suspect.
- The Facebook page. A page using our firm’s name is running fraudulent ads in association with our name and business address. A genuine address on a page does not make the page genuine. Our legitimate Facebook page can be found at facebook.com/bergpclaw.
How to Protect Yourself
There are a few things worth committing to memory because they will let you spot scammers impersonating legitimate lawyers and law firms, like Berg PC:
Berg PC does not communicate through Signal, WhatsApp, or social media — ever. Our attorneys will never reach out to you or ask you to discuss your matter through those channels. If someone using the Berg PC name contacts you on Signal, WhatsApp, or a social platform, it is not us.
With very few exceptions, we represent crypto scam victims on a contingency basis. In those matters, we do not ask for payment of any fees or expenses up front. If there is NO RECOVERY, there is NO FEE. Anyone demanding an upfront payment to recover your funds is not us and is trying to steal from you.
Be especially wary of social media ads promising asset or crypto recovery. The fraudulent Facebook page is running exactly the kind of ads we spend our days fighting — ads that prey on people who have already lost money to crypto scammers.
These scams continue to run because platforms like Meta keep accepting and profiting from them, even as victims report the harm they cause. Treat any “recovery” ad you see on social media with deep skepticism, and verify the firm independently before you respond.
You should never wire funds to anyone posing as Berg PC. We will never instruct you to send money or cryptocurrency to a wallet or account through an unsolicited message. If you receive that kind of request, disregard it.
When in doubt, verify. You can confirm the existence, standing, and associated firm of any attorney directly with the State Bar of Texas.
Why This is Happening
Our security experts and financial crime investigators explained that a firm like ours becomes a target because we’re drawing blood. We’ve built a real name for our firm by freezing millions of dollars belonging to fraud operators and winning millions more in judgments against them. The people behind schemes like this one are trying to save themselves by eliminating the threat we pose to their operations. That will never happen.
If You’ve Been Targeted
If you believe you’ve interacted with the fraudulent website or the impersonating Facebook page, or have received a suspicious message claiming to be from us, reach out through the form on our Cryptocurrency Fraud & Recovery page, so we can document it. The more reports we gather, the stronger our case with the host, with Google, and with Meta.
